At World youth Day In Poland, Pope Francis called all young people into action, to be protagonists of history and to leave their mark in the world. He said that this requires courage and “a readiness to trade the sofa for a pair of walking shoes and to set out on new and uncharted paths.”
In response to the Popes invitation the #shoestories initiative was born – as an online platform for young people to share stories of where their shoes have taken them once they have jumped off the couch and into the world. #shoestories is human library of stories of encounter, transformation, healing and mission. Its aim is to encourage, inspire, challenge and bring to life the way young people are changing the world – one shoe story at a time.
